Ranchi: Efforts to pacify a dozen Congress MLAs who rebelled after the expansion of the Champai Soren cabinet in Jharkhand have currently failed. 10 MLAs left for New Delhi on Saturday night to meet the party high command, while two more MLAs will go on Sunday morning. Let us tell you that CM Champai Soren has also gone to Delhi on Saturday evening. He is scheduled to meet Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and other party leaders. It is believed that during the CM’s meeting with the Congress President, the issue of resentment of Congress MLAs may be discussed.
Angry Congress MLAs are demanding that four people from their party who have been made ministers in the Champai Soren cabinet should be removed and new faces should be given a chance. These four were also ministers in Hemant Soren’s government, but the performance of any of them is not such that they should have been given a place in the cabinet again. On Saturday, angry MLAs held a meeting in a hotel located in Birsa Chowk, Ranchi. Minister Basant Soren arrived to convince him.

Hemant Soren’s younger brother talked to the MLAs, but they remained adamant on their demand. The MLAs have said that if the four Congress quota ministers Alamgir Alam, Rameshwar Oraon, Banna Gupta and Badal are not removed, they will boycott the budget session of the Assembly to be held from February 23. If these MLAs remain adamant on their demands then Champai Soren’s government may be in danger during the assembly session. Budget is a money bill and being in minority during voting on it can lead to the fall of the government.
Let us tell you that during the cabinet expansion on Friday, the MLAs had expressed their displeasure and locked themselves in the room of the Circuit House. After persuasion, these people went to the swearing-in ceremony, but the resentment did not subside. The angry MLAs said in one voice that they are not against the government or the Grand Alliance, but the way in which the old ministers were sworn in as ministers again by the Congress by keeping them in the dark, is wrong. That’s why all of us MLAs are united and going to Delhi. There we will present our views before the high command.
