Jincheon-gun proved that Saenggeojincheon is a good place to live in the regional safety index evaluation. Jincheon-gun, North Chungcheong Province (Governor Song Ki-seop) was selected as one of the safest local governments in the country, once again proving that Saenggeojincheon is a good place to live.

According to the military on the 9th, it achieved first grade in four areas, including traffic accidents, living safety, suicide, and infectious diseases, in the ‘2024 National Local Government Regional Safety Index Evaluation’ hosted by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security. This is the largest record among the 82 county-level local governments nationwide, and among the 226 basic local governments nationwide, there are only four, along with Gijang-gun in Busan, Gyeryong-si in Chungcheongnam-do, and Nam-gu in Gwangju. In addition, it recorded a grade 2 in the fire sector, achieving grades 1 to 2 in a total of 5 areas, and was recognized as the safest area in the country.

In particular, in the area of suicide, the suicide rate decreased by 27% and rose by two levels compared to the previous year.

The military △continuously monitors those at risk of lonely death △supports the formation of social networks for reclusive loners among young and middle-aged people △enacts ordinances to prevent lonely deaths △suicide prevention counseling in connection with the three major religious organizations △respect for life cultural and artistic performances △campaign for safe use of lightning bolts △installation of love for life signs, etc. It was analyzed that the promotion of various policies led to a decrease in the suicide rate.

Jincheon County Mayor Song Ki-seop said, “Based on close cooperation between relevant organizations such as the police and fire departments, we will continue to promote projects to improve vulnerable areas and build the safest city in the country that is not underperforming in any of the indicators. “We will do our best to create a safe environment.”

The regional safety index evaluation is a system that calculates regional safety levels from 1 to 5 by analyzing statistical data in six areas, including regional fires, traffic accidents, crime, life safety, suicide, and infectious diseases, and has been conducted every year since 2015.

Meanwhile, Jincheon-gun, North Chungcheong Province (Governor Song Ki-seop) has actively promoted the 2025 national cancer screening to ensure smooth progress and early treatment.
