Jindo-gun Gwanmaedo Haesong Forest won the grand prize at the ‘1st Forest in Jeonnam, Luxury Forest’. Jindo-gun (Governor Kim Hee-su) announced that the Haespine Forest on Gwanmae-do, Jodo-myeon, received the grand prize (Korea Forest Service Director’s Award) at the 1st Forest in Jeonnam, Premium Forest Awards Ceremony.
At the ’1st Jeonnam in the Forest’ Premium Forest awards Ceremony held on December 6th at the National Hwasun Healing Forest in Hancheon-myeon, hwasun-gun, through a contest held since last October, △ Grand Prize Gwanmaedo Haespine Forest, △ Grand Prize Prize Jirisan Garden in Gurye-gun, △ Excellence Prize Mudeungsan Mountain Bau Gardens, etc. where selected.
The Gwanmaedo Haespine Forest received high scores as an example of overcoming the situation through public-private cooperation, such as the organic cooperation between village residents, Jindo-gun, and the Korea Forest Service to restore the Haespine Forest, which had been devastated by damage from the pine bark beetle, and to create a successor forest.

This is the groundbreaking ceremony for the ‘9th Angel’s Nest’, where the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation provides housing for vulnerable families who suffered notable flood damage due to heavy rain that fell last July. The Angel’s Nest House, in which three generations will live together, is scheduled to be completed on May 5, 2025, in commemoration of Children’s Day. it is designed as a duplex structure on 29 pyeong, and will be the first example of a children’s housing support project in response to natural disasters.
