Ericsson has formed a joint venture on Thursday. In this, space has been given to 12 telecom operators. Many major telecom operators from India have been given space in it. Jio, Bharti Airtel are also included in this. This venture has been done by Ericsson to sell Application Programming Interface (APIs) network applications. With its help, innovation is going to come in digital services. With its help, work will be done to protect financial transactions from fraud.

APIs will be used to unlock use cases and check device status. Also, if you use it, the video quality can also be adjusted. Swedish telecom Gear will hold 50% of the shares in the joint venture, while other companies will hold the remaining 50%. This transaction can be completed by early next year, subject to regulatory approval.

América Móvil, AT&T, Orange, Singtel, Telefonica, Telstra, T-Mobile and Vodafone have also joined the venture. Three Swedish companies are also expected to be a part of it. Access will be provided by Vonage and Google Cloud. The new company will provide a network of APIs for developer platforms, including hyperscalers (HCPs), Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) providers, System Integrators (SIs) and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs). This is an open-source project run by the GSMA and the Linux Foundation.

Reliance Jio Chairman and Board Member Mathew Omen said, “We have been working for a long time to strengthen the network with AI and APIs. Our work will become easier after getting the support of a global company.” Airtel also said on this, “Our network monetization policy will be strengthened. This will strengthen the entire ecosystem.”
