Mother and Papa were an intercaste marriage, father’s name was Sarath, later changed to Papa Thambi. “My real name was Akhil, Jiva was my family name and Joseph was my mother’s father’s name which later changed to Jiva Joseph,” says Jiva. Now speaking tearfully about his mother’s problems, music director Ranjin Raj came on a program called Sarigama and said, ‘He directed the song from the Joseph film Poomuthole for his mother and not for his wife.
Ranjin Raj says that he composed the song after his mother passed away, and Jiva also cried about his mother when he heard these words. My father died when I was in 9th grade and he never saw my mother after that. We are two children and my mother went to Gulf for us.
