Job, fake email scams: 39 arrested

Police have arrested 39 people. 35 of them are men. Four girls. They range in age from 16 to 65. Police said the suspects were suspected of being involved in work-related scams and fake e-mail scams related to the 200th anniversary of Singapore.

A total of 113 people were questioned by police during operations across the island from November 22 to 26. Police say they are investigating 900 job-related scams and fake email scams that have cost more than $ 20 million.
The remaining 74 detainees are being investigated. Innocents caught up in fraudulent activities are said to have sold their bank accounts to criminal gangs or leaked Singpass details.
