Job Opening for IT Support Technician in Region Kalmar County
Region Kalmar County’s IT service and support department has announced a job vacancy for a support technician. The department primarily offers 2nd line support for IT-related queries from employees of Region Kalmar County. Along with providing on-site user support, the IT service also handles the ordering, delivery, installation, and replacement of IT products. The support technician will work both on-site with users in various businesses in Kalmar County and at the County Hospital in Kalmar.
This position as a support technician offers an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of County residents. The role acts as a bridge between IT and users in various activities, ranging from healthcare to public transport and folk high schools. The responsibilities include supporting traditional and user-friendly IT components like computers and video conferencing facilities, along with specialized IT components used in dental care and intensive care equipment.
The ideal candidate should have experience and knowledge in technical IT support, preferably within a larger organization. A post-secondary education in the IT field is advantageous. Expertise in central client and printer management, remote support, and administration of Active Directory is preferred. Experience with support for iPads, mobile phones, and video equipment is also beneficial.
The role requires technical proficiency, self-motivation, commitment, and strong social skills. The ability to solve problems independently and collaboratively is essential. The candidate must remain calm and stable while managing multiple processes simultaneously and possess the ability to prioritize effectively. Proficiency in spoken and written Swedish is a requirement due to constant interaction with users. A valid driver’s license for a manually-shifted car is mandatory for the position within Team IT Service.
