On Saturday (September 7) at 9:30 pm, the protestors returned to Shahbagh intersection with this announcement.

Earlier, a delegation of them went to Pravasi Kalyan Bhawan to meet Asif Nazrul, education and legal advisor of the interim government at 6:30 pm, but they did not meet him as he was away on state work. After returning from there, they made this announcement.

Movement coordinator Russell Al Mahmud said, Sir (Asif Nazrul) left before we left due to urgent work of the state. Before leaving, he informed his PS in writing that he will form a non-discrimination committee in the next seven to ten days to resolve the issue. The first task there will be a logical and concrete solution to our demands.

At this time, Russell asked the assembled protestors whether they would accept it or not. They said ‘No’ in unison. He then said, “Since we don’t want to wait, we will hold a sit-in again at 10 am tomorrow.”

Another coordinator Mozammel Babu said, we are giving an ultimatum of 12 hours till 8 am tomorrow to meet the demands. If the demand is not met, we will again stand (blockade) at Shahbagh intersection from 10 am.
