Kiev: US President Joe Biden made a surprise visit to the capital of Ukraine, Kiev, and held important talks with President Zelensky. At that time he promised to supply arms worth Rs.4,135 crore to Ukraine.
The Russian army launched an attack on Ukraine on February 24 last year. The war between the two countries is approaching a year. In this context, it was officially announced that US President Joe Biden will visit Ukraine’s neighbor Poland on February 20, 21 and 22. When asked by reporters if he would visit Ukraine, the White House flatly denied it.
In this situation, US President Joe Biden left Washington for Poland on Air Force One the day before yesterday. His flight landed in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. Biden, who traveled for 10 hours by special train, arrived in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, yesterday morning. His journey was kept very secret. He was said to have traveled to Ukraine by train because he would have faced Russian airstrikes if he had traveled by air. Perhaps, American missiles were kept ready in Poland and Ukraine to thwart a surprise Russian attack on the train.
President Joe Biden alighted at the Kiev railway station and arrived at the Mariinsky Palace in a special vehicle. He was received by Ukrainian President Zelensky. The two leaders held key talks.
At that time, US President Joe Biden said: The attack on Ukraine was launched a year ago. Some people said that the country would fall, but for a year, Ukraine is standing up and fighting. Not only the United States, but the whole world stands by Ukraine.
Ukraine’s military will be provided with advanced Himar missiles, armored vehicles, and advanced radars to monitor the airspace. In addition, we will provide weapons worth $500 million (about Rs. 4,135 crore). The US budget is generously allocated funds for the welfare of the people of Ukraine.
Russia wanted to wipe Ukraine off the world map. But it didn’t happen. Russian President Putin’s dream has been shattered. Half of the areas occupied by the Russian army have been recovered.
Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a war on Ukraine a year ago. ‘Ukraine is weak. There is no unity in the West. So we can easily win the war,’ Putin dreamed. By now he would have realized that his prediction was grossly wrong. God only knows what Putin is thinking.
