US President Joe Biden announced that He renounced his candidacy for the country for the upcoming presidential elections.
According to the President through a statement on his social networks, the measure was taken “for the interest of his party and the country.”
“Y Although my intention has been to seek re-election, I believe that the best thing for my party and for the country is that I retire and I focus solely on fulfilling my obligations as president for the remainder of my term,” Biden wrote.
“I will speak to the Nation later this week with more detail about my decision,” he added.
Along with this, Biden announced his support for Vice President Kamala Harris as a candidate for the Democratic Party.
“Hoy I wish to offer my full support and endorsement to Kamala (Harris) to be our party’s nominee this year,” the president said in X.
