Joey King Reflects on Surprise Stage Appearance with Taylor Swift

In a recent interview with CNN, actress Joey King opened up about her experience joining Taylor Swift on stage during her “Eras” tour stop in Kansas City in July. King, known for her roles in “The Kissing Booth” and “Bullet Train,” described the moment as an entirely different level of excitement.

Swift surprised fans by premiering a new music video for her song “I Can See You” during the concert and invited King and Taylor Lautner, who starred in the video, to join her on stage. King admitted that walking out on a stage in front of 70,000 plus people was a niche experience, unlike anything she had encountered before.

According to King, she was backstage when Swift informed her about the plan to bring her on stage either before or after the video played. King humorously recalled her surprise, saying, “You did not tell me I was going on stage,” which led to nervousness and excitement. However, she described the energy and the experience as incredible, as it was a breathtaking moment to feel the energy of the massive crowd directed at her.

This wasn’t the first time King collaborated with Swift. She previously starred in the singer’s “Mean” music video in 2011. When Swift approached her for another collaboration this year, King readily accepted, praising Swift as an amazing artist.

Aside from her music endeavors, King has also been volunteering as a pet photographer at a local Los Angeles animal shelter for Hill’s Pet Nutrition’s Clear The Shelters campaign. She highlighted the importance of high-quality pet photos, mentioning that data shows a pet with a good photo is typically adopted within two weeks, compared to 43 days for a pet with a poor photo.

King’s love for animals extends to her personal life, as she and her fiancé Steven Piet recently adopted a shelter dog named Fable, who has become best friends with their older dog Jesse James. King commended the Clear the Shelters program for its significant impact, helping house 860,000 dogs and cats and securing housing for a total of 13 million animals through the Hill’s Food, Shelter, and Love program.

In addition to her philanthropic work and career, King is also planning her wedding with Piet, whom she met on the set of Hulu’s series “The Act.” She described the upcoming ceremony as intimate and expressed her excitement about marrying her best friend.

Joey King continues to make a name for herself in both the entertainment industry and her dedication to supporting animals in need, all while cherishing the opportunity to collaborate with talented artists like Taylor Swift.
