Jofra Archer cricket life may be over – indefinitely out of cricket due to stress fracture, shock to England cricket

by time news
The Board of Control for Cricket in England (BCCI) on Thursday ruled that England fast bowler Joffre Archer has been ruled out of the entire season due to a hamstring injury and will miss the Test against India in July.

Worse still, the shocking thing for England is that he is retiring indefinitely and the England Cricket Board has not given any date or time frame for when he will return. Jobra Archer goes on indefinite treatment, rehab and rest. So he is likely to give up international cricket.

At least he’s likely to give up Test cricket and opt for cash league matches, and it looks like the cricket world is losing one of the greatest fast bowlers in international cricket, say UK cricket experts.

The worst thing is that the ECB has not set any deadline for his return, which means he will be out of match cricket indefinitely.

India will play one Test match in July with six white-ball matches. Joffrey, 27, last played international cricket in the series against India in March 2021, underwent elbow surgery and then returned to county cricket for Sussex before suffering a fracture.

Born in Barbados, Joffre has so far taken 86 wickets for England in 42 international matches in three formats.

If he retires from Test cricket due to injury, or if he retires from all international cricket, it will be a loss not only to England but to the world of cricket.
