SJ has recently introduced its own train driver training program. Despite this, Johan Pehrson tweeted about cancelled trains and a lack of drivers, receiving hundreds of responses, including criticism from Märta Stenevi and Therese Svanström. Morgan Johansson also commented on the issue. Pehrson responded with information about the profession and calls for better matching of unemployed individuals with available jobs. In an interview with Sveriges Radio, Pehrson called for stronger efforts to match individuals with jobs in shortage industries.

Nevertheless, the news about canceled trains between Skåne and Gothenburg prompted Johan Pehrson to tweet:

Pehrson has “zero grounding in reality,” tweets the Green Party’s spokeswoman Märta Stenevi. TCO’s chairperson Therese Svanström writes: “Now I wonder if the account has been hacked – otherwise it’s probably time to be unemployed next time.”
The Social Democrat and former Minister of Justice Morgan Johansson (S) writes: “Once upon a time, the People’s Party also stood up for social security in the event of illness and unemployment. Now it is only class struggle from above and mockery that applies to the Liberals”.
Pehrson has responded to a number of critical posts with a link to the employment agency and information about the locomotive driver profession.
In an interview in Studio one in Sveriges Radio, Pehrson says that the controls in the unemployment insurance fund and the employment agency must be strengthened.
– When I mean that you have it fat, I mean that it is too easy not to get into the educations that are necessary, to make the personal efforts that are so important, and in the worst case make yourself uncomfortable to move to those jobs that exist, says Pehrson.
He further says that previous governments have not done enough to match the unemployed with occupations where there is a shortage of labour.
– We have a lot of the shortage force and we have a lot of people who are unemployed. If you don’t see that this has been a problem, then you are missing the point, then we must strengthen the training efforts and we must strengthen not least the training efforts so that more people can train to become train drivers, says Pehrson.
