Winner of the Australian Grand Prix, Johann Zarco is now one of five French riders to have won a MotoGP race.
After Johann Zarco’s victory at the Australian Grand Prix on Saturday, France has five winners and 15 successes in the premier category of the World Motorcycle Speed Championship (500 cc then MotoGP):
– Fabio Quartararo: 11 (Spain 2020, Andalusia 2020, Catalonia 2020, Doha 2021, Portugal 2021, Italy 2021, Netherlands 2021, Great Britain 2021, Portugal 2022, Catalonia 2022, Germany 2022). Fabio Quartararo was also crowned world champion in the MotoGP category in 2021.
– Johann Zarco: 1 victory (Australian GP 2023).
– Régis Laconi: 1 (Valence 1999).
– Christian Sarron: 1 (Germany 1985).
