Sprint cup leader Erik Valnes disappeared.
Klæbo won clearly ahead of his Italian rival Federico Pellegrino, but Valnes, however, did not make it work and surprisingly retired.
– It’s a scam, concluded Viaplay expert Niklas Dyrhaug.
Håvard Solås Taugbøl finished in 6th place, while World Cup leader Harald Østberg Amundsen recorded another good sprint prologue with 8th place. Pål Golberg was number 16, while Even Northug clocked in at the 21st best time.
Like Valnes, Mattis Stenshagen quit.
Klæbo won both sprints on Canadian soil in Canmore. Also in Goms at the end of January, the Trønder demonstrated his strength when he won ahead of Frenchman Lucas Chanavat, who triumphed in both sprints in the Tour de Ski.
