After the facts became known, search efforts began with the support of heavy machinery to rescue the people.

After several hours of work, authorities of this municipality located in the Mixteca region of Oaxaca reported that they managed to locate the bodies in the mud.

A fifth person would have died due to the passage of Hurricane “John” in the town of Llano Nuevo, belonging to Santiago Amoltepec, who was identified as Martha HL, 55 years old; However, the causes of death of this victim are still unknown.
It should be noted that since September 26, Hurricane “John” stopped having effects in the state and is currently located off the coasts of Jalisco and Nayarit; However, the remnants continue to generate rains of variable intensity in most of the state, with occasional heavy showers in the Sierra Sur, Mixteca and Costa regions.
For his part, the Governor of Oaxaca, Salomón Jara Cruz, toured the Callejón de Rómulo police agency, belonging to this municipality, which was the most affected by the rains caused by Hurricane “John.”
