Between Saturday evening and Sunday morning: John Legend is back with a double album.

The Angels.

With a new double album, the American soul and pop star John Legend (“All of Me”) wants to show his versatility – and once again sings about his love for his wife Chrissy Teigen. “Hi everyone, my name is John Legend, you may also know me as ‘Chrissy Teigen’s husband’,” the 43-year-old joked a few days before the release of his new album Legend on Friday (September 9).

In the Instagram video, he also announced the song “Splash,” which he wrote for Teigen, who also works as a model. In the song, the 12-time Grammy winner sings, “Let the water cleanse me/ I want to be baptized/ Try those thighs/ Let them touch the sky.” The previously released songs “All She Wanna Do”, “Dope” and “Honey” speak for a varied sound on “Legend”.

The first twelve songs are like Saturday night, the second twelve like Sunday morning, Legend recently told the New Yorker magazine: “Saturday night is more about sensual pleasures, more about the party, more up-tempo. It’s Sunday more introspective, intimate and spiritual.” Legend, born John Stephens in 1978, releases his eighth studio album with his eponymous album.

In the USA, the musician is known, especially together with Teigen, as a liberal celebrity dream couple who let their fans take part in their lives on social media. The American public was particularly concerned about Teigen’s miscarriage in 2020. Now, after daughter Luna and son Miles, the couple is expecting another baby. (dpa)
