NOTICIACRISTIANA.COM. – A screening of “The Essential Church” by John MacArthur at the G3 2023 National Conference had to be evacuated in Atlanta on Friday night after a bomb threat was reported.
“I was on the microphone and ready to talk about the film Essential Church, and a bomb threat came into the building. The G3 has been evacuated. Interesting moment @JennaEllisEsq @ArlenysBuckelew,” wrote Shannon Paul Halliday, writer and director of “The Essential Church,” on X, formerly Twitter.

Jenna Ellis, an attorney for John MacArthur and Grace Community Church, told church leaders: “I am very happy to know that the situation was handled and that everyone in attendance is safe. I hope G3 gives Grace Productions another opportunity to show the film ‘The Essential Church’ because every Christian needs to see this important documentary and prepare to stand firm in the future for God against tyranny.
The annual conference is organized by G3 Ministries, a Christian organization that means “Gospel—Grace—Glory” and was created in 2013 to hold a “theology conference.”
While details are still uncertain, some reports claim that just before “The Essential Church” was screened, a man came on stage and claimed there was a bomb in the building.
According to those reports, Timothy Mixon, 33, was detained by security and later turned over to authorities.
Pastor Tom Buck, one of the directors of G3 Ministries and a speaker at this year’s conference, reported that information is still being gathered about what really happened.
This year’s conference in Atlanta was attended by nearly 8,000 people and featured speakers such as: Paul Washer, Voddie Baucham, Steven Lawson, Justin Peters, Ken Ham, Phil Johnson, James White, James Coates, Virgil Walker, Darrell Harrison, Owen Strachan, Josh Buice, and more.
