Singer, harmonica player, keyboardist and guitarist, John Mayall has more than one string to his neck. He is considered one of the first players of the “boom blues”, a musical movement which emerged in the 1960s in England, now part of the long history of English rock.
“His raw authenticity, his connection, his community and his play will continue to influence the music and culture we know today for generations to come,” said a source close to him.
A graduate of fine arts, John Mayall was already 30 years old in 1963 when he decided to leave his job as an architect to launch into music once he arrived in London.
