Washington: The U.S. has restricted the use of the Kovid vaccine, developed by Johnson & Johnson, because of the potential for blood clots. The Food and Drug Administration recommends that the vaccine be given only to adults who have not used any other vaccine or who require this vaccine. It is recommended to use Pfizer and Modena vaccines instead.

As of last March, 60 cases of side effects from this vaccine had been identified. Of these, 9 cases were fatal. Women over the age of 50 were found to have blood clots within 2 weeks of being injected.
