Thrissur: On the occasion of the 11th death anniversary of music director Johnson Master, Music Director Johnson Foundation will conduct ‘Johnson Smriti’ at Thrissur Regional Theater on Thursday at 5.30 pm. Collector Haritha V. In the program inaugurated by Kumar, Mayor M.K. Varghese will preside. Ahead of the inauguration, the book ‘Johnson, Enam Pootha Kalam’ written by Rafiq Zakaria will be released. Guitarist Atlee de Coonja, who has shared 5000 concert stages and is also a founding trustee of the Foundation, will be honoured. Music director Ousepachan will present the prizes to the winners of the Akhila Kerala Johnson Smriti Song Contest. Directors Sathyan Anthikad, Kamal, Jayaraj Warrier and Johnson’s wife Rani Ennir Johnson will commemorate the master. The organizers informed in the press conference that Smriti is being held in collaboration with Thrissur Corporation for the first time. More than 20 artists will perform about 30 songs composed by Johnson in the Ganasandhya evening. Najeem Arshad, Reena Murali, Indulekha Warrier, Dilraj Gopi, song contest winner G. Abhinand Babu will sing songs. Johnson’s brother, violinist Chaco Attic, will lead the evening. Ousepachan, Jayaraj Warrier, Chacko Thattil and Davis Immati participated in the press conference.
