jpnn.comJAKARTA – The joint meeting (Ragab) of the MPR leadership with the DPD factions and groups on Friday (23/8) decided to form the MPR Honorary Council.
MPR RI Chairman Bambang Soesatyo said that his party would also hold a final session of the MPR term of office for the 2019-2024 period which would be attended by all MPR members from the DPR and DPD on September 25, 2024.
Ragab also decided that the briefing of MPR members for the 2024-2029 period would be held on September 28 and 29, 2024.
The purpose of the briefing is so that members of the MPR for the 2024-2029 period, especially those who have just been elected, can understand the functions, authorities, and duties of the MPR, as well as the agenda for the initial session of the term of office.
“The formation of the MPR Honorary Council, whether in this period or the next MPR period, will be decided in the final session of the MPR term of office for the 2019-2024 period.”
“The formation of the MPR Honorary Council is very important so that there is no recurrence of criminalization or character assassination of the MPR leadership and MPR members when carrying out their duties and authorities as MPR members,” said Bamsoet after leading the Ragab MPR leadership with the leaders of the MPR factions and the DPD group online from Jakarta, Friday (23/8/24).
The Deputy Chairmen of the MPR were present, among others, Ahmad Basarah, Lestari Moerdijat, Hidayat Nur Wahid, Amir Uskara, Fadel Muhammad and Syarif Hasan. Meanwhile, the leaders of the DPD factions/groups were present, TB. Hasanuddin (PDI Perjuangan Faction), Ferdiansyah and Mujib Rohmat (Golkar Party Faction).
There are also Taufik Basari (Nasdem Faction), Neng Eem Marhamah Zulfah (PKB Faction), Aliyah Mustika Ilham (Democrat Faction), Tifatul Sembiring and Johan Rosihan (PKS Faction), Muhammad Iqbal (PPP Faction), M. Syukur, and Ajbar (DPD Group).
