jpnn.comJAKARTA – Chairman of the DPP PDI Perjuangan Deddy Yevri Sitorus handed it over to the people to provide an assessment regarding the possibility of the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ever asking to serve as head of state for three terms.
He said this in response to Jokowi’s statement denying that he had ever asked for a three-term term.
“Is it true that people still believe that he (Jokowi, ed.) doesn’t intend to have three terms,” said Deddy via messaging service, Monday (30/12).
Previously, Jokowi claimed that he had never asked for the position of President of the Republic of Indonesia during his three terms as head of state.
“I have never asked anyone for a three-term extension,” he told media in Solo, Central Java, Monday.
Jokowi even brought several names such as PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri and PDIP DPP Chair Puan Maharani to strengthen his claim of never asking for the position of President of the Republic of Indonesia for three terms.
“Just ask Ms. Mega, Ms. Puan, just ask the party. When, where, who I sent, it’s never there,” he said.
The narrative that the President of the Republic of Indonesia could serve three terms quickly emerged while Jokowi was Head of State.
