jpnn.comBANDAR LAMPUNG – President Joko Widodo inaugurated the Bandar Lampung City Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) in South Lampung Regency, on Monday (26/8).

According to him, the inauguration was part of the government’s efforts to increase access to clean water for people in the regions.

In his remarks, Jokowi said that the construction of the SPAM had been carried out by the government through the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) since 2020.

“Today, the drinking water supply system in Bandar Lampung City will be inaugurated. This is one of the national strategic projects in Lampung Province that has been worked on since 2020,” said Jokowi as quoted from the official release of the Palace Press Bureau.

Jokowi said that the SPAM, which was built with an investment value of IDR 1.3 trillion, can supply clean water to 60 thousand households in the area.

The large capacity of the SPAM provides very clear and good water.

“What the Director General said was that it is cleaner, better than bottled water because the NTU (Nephelometric Turbidity Unit) is 0.278, whereas the standard from the Ministry of Health is 3, while bottled water is 0.8. So it is better,” he said.

For this reason, Jokowi encouraged local government officials to ensure that surrounding households could have connections to SPAM.
