According to social psychology researcher Zaedi Basiturrozak, this step is seen as an important symbol of the leadership relay in Indonesia.
In addition, Jokowi’s action in introducing Prabowo has a symbolic meaning related to the continuation of the nation’s leadership.
“In the context of President Jokowi introducing Mr. Prabowo, it is a symbol of the leadership baton,” said Zaedi, Wednesday (4/9/2024).
According to Zaedi, President Jokowi’s steps are expected to be a spirit in building the nation in the future, especially for the welfare of the Indonesian people.
“Hopefully this justification will be the spirit of continued leadership and development of the Indonesian nation towards an advanced Indonesia and the prosperity of the people,” he hoped.
Zaedi also added that although there are differences in leadership styles between Jokowi and Prabowo. It will not reduce the substance of the leadership function itself.
“Although we cannot deny that there are differences in leadership styles between Mr. Jokowi and Prabowo, it will not eliminate the substance of the leadership function itself towards a just, prosperous and dignified Indonesia in the eyes of the world,” he said.
