jpnn.comJAKARTA – Chairman of the PDI Perjuangan DPP Ronny Talapessy asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to act proactively to respond to the news that the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was nominated for the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP).
“It would be good for the KPK to be proactive in communicating with the OCCRP,” he said via messaging service, Tuesday (31/12).
Ronny said the nomination from OCCRP could be an initial clue for the Corruption Eradication Committee to move and show its strength in investigating the corruption case involving Jokowi’s family.
“This is also important so that the current KPK does not become like the Jokowi edition of the Corruption Eradication Commission which was blunt towards cases involving Jokowi’s family and only sharp towards Jokowi’s political opponents,” said former Bharada lawyer Richard Eliezer or E.
Ronny continued that the news about the OCCRP nomination was surprising to many Indonesians.
Because, he said, Jokowi has always been impressed as a simple figure who consistently wears a white shirt and black trousers.
“Maybe the investigative journalists and OCCRP judges have findings that we don’t know much about,” said Ronny.
Previously, a number of world leaders were included in the list of finalists for Person of the Year 2024 in the category of organizational crime and corruption according to the Organize Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP).
Chairman of the PDI Perjuangan DPP, Ronny Talapessy, asked the Corruption Eradication Committee to be proactive in responding to news from OCCRP about corrupt leaders.
