Coimbatore: Jolly Rovers Sports Club team won by 91 runs in the district level third division cricket league match.
On behalf of Coimbatore District Cricket Association, ‘N. The third division league match for Damodaran Wellfair Trophy was held at Sri Krishna Aditya College Ground, Coimbatore. In this match, the teams of Arumugam Cricket Club and Jolly Rovers Sports Club clashed.
In the match, Jolly Rovers won the toss and batted first and scored 289 runs for the loss of five wickets in 50 overs.
Team captain Godwin Rupesh (91), Naren Karthikeyan (60), Sujith (60) and Priyadarshan (33) played a responsible game.
Kathiravan (35) gave Arumugam a modest start as they set a tough target of 290 runs to win.
Later, Surya (38) and Vijay Bharti (47) added runs for the team. Other players didn’t last.
As a result, the team was all out for 198 runs in 44.3 overs. Thirumurugan of Jolly Rovers helped the team win with four wickets.
