The Anti-Corruption Department is conducting raids at 58 places owned by former Tamil Nadu Home Minister SB Velumani. The Income Tax Department is conducting searches at various places owned by SB Velumani, including his house and office in the Mayilkal area of Coimbatore. A case has also been registered against 13 persons, including the wife and son of SB Velumani. A case has been registered against 6 companies for corruption along with SB Velumani.
According to the Anti-Corruption Department, 58 crore 23 lakh rupees worth of assets have been added during the period 2016-2021. In this case. All the details of the amount spent by P Velumani when he was the Minister on tour abroad have now been released. In that line, when SB Velumani was the minister, it was revealed that Australia, Indonesia, Thailand had spent Rs 1.25 crore on tourism alone.
