Actor Jonathan Majors “Stunned and Afraid” After Guilty Verdict for Assault and Harassment

In a recent interview with ABC News, actor Jonathan Majors expressed his shock and fear after a jury found him guilty of assaulting and harassing his former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Majors, known for his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, said he was “standing there and the verdict comes down. I say, ‘How is that possible based off the evidence, based off the prosecution’s evidence, let alone our evidence? How is that possible?'”

Majors was acquitted of two other counts of assault and aggravated harassment in the split verdict. He plans to appeal the jury’s decision from December.

During the interview, Majors denied hitting Jabbari and claimed he was “reckless with her heart” but not with her body. He expressed confusion about how Jabbari suffered a cut behind her ear and a fractured finger after their altercation in a car in New York.

Following the guilty verdict, Marvel dropped Majors from future roles playing the super-villain Kang in their universe. The actor was set to reprise his role in the upcoming film “Avengers: Kang Dynasty” and the Disney series “Loki.” Additionally, Majors’s management company dropped him, and the US army removed him from recruiting advertisements for the military branch.

Majors’s comments have been met with criticism from Jabbari’s attorney, who said that the actor “continues to take no accountability for his actions,” adding that the timing of his statements demonstrates a lack of remorse and should make the sentencing decisions easy for the court. Majors is scheduled to be sentenced in February and faces up to a year in prison for the assault conviction, as well as a potential sentence of 15 days in jail and a $250 fine for the harassment conviction.
