Jonathan Majors Trial: Evidence Released to Media and Defense Rests Case

by time news

Actor Jonathan Majors’ trial has reached a pivotal moment as the defense rested its case after one day of testimony. The New York Criminal Court Judge Michael Gaffey has approved the release of several pieces of evidence to the media. The evidence includes photos taken by Majors’ ex-partner of bruising and a cut behind her ear, as well as 911 calls and body-cam footage of police officers entering the apartment.

Majors is facing four charges of misdemeanor assault, aggravated harassment, and harassment and has pleaded not guilty to all charges. The trial began on March 25 after a 911 call was made by Majors when he found his ex-partner “unconscious” in their apartment.

The prosecution alleged that the incident began after midnight when Majors and his ex-partner were in the car on their way home from dinner. The defense has alleged that the ex-partner was the aggressor in the car and suggested that the injuries could have been sustained at a club or at the apartment afterward.

The evidence also includes audio recordings and footage of Jabbari chasing Majors down the street. In her earlier testimony, she said she went to the club at the invitation of passersby on the street.

The defense team has called witnesses and Majors’ agent, Elan Ruspoli from WME, testified to the actor sounding concerned and distraught. Majors did not testify in his defense, and the judge has reminded jurors that it should not be used against him.

With closing arguments expected to begin and the jury to begin deliberations, the trial has drawn attention as Majors continues to appear in court every day alongside his current partner, Meagan Good, and family members.
