Is Jonathan Tah going to FC Bayern after all? There has been speculation for weeks about a departure from Bayer Leverkusen. Now the boss of the double winner has spoken out.
After weeks of back and forth, those in charge at Bayer Leverkusen are at least expecting national player Jonathan Tah to stay and not move to FC Bayern. “At the moment we are assuming that he will stay and that is all we are concerned about,” said the club’s chairman, Fernando Carro, shortly before the Bundesliga opening match on the streaming service DAZN.
There has been speculation for some time about Tah’s move to the German record champions. Bayern and the central defender are said to have agreed on a contract weeks ago. However, there has been no agreement between the clubs so far. Carro pointed out, however, that “anything can happen” in football until the end of the transfer window at the end of August.
Tah’s contract with the German football champions runs until 2025, and Leverkusen is said to have offered him an extension, according to media reports.
