Delegates from Jordan and Namibia gathered in Addis Ababa for Oromia Tourism Week, meeting from September 29 to October 1, 2026, to forge new bilateral tourism partnerships, highlight shared cultural heritage, and study Ethiopia’s streamlined e-Visa entry system.

Jordan and Namibia Delegates Target Regional Heritage Links

Laura Leader, founder and general manager of Discover Jordan, told the Ethiopian News Agency that the historical connections between her home country and Ethiopia offer a natural baseline for collaborative travel itineraries. International tourism stakeholders used Oromia Tourism Week to establish foundational business ties with Ethiopian operators.

Both Ethiopia and Jordan share a very rich culture and heritage.

Leader stated that the event connected her team with tourism operators across the African continent. She added that her engagement with local Ethiopian professionals has inspired plans for a familiarization trip beyond Addis Ababa to explore Ethiopia’s depth.

Namibia Tourism Board Pursues Cultural Parallels

Sandra N. Shoopala, Marketing Administrator at the Namibia Tourism Board, stated regarding the three-day exhibition:

She praised the local hospitality, noting that Ethiopia is a very beautiful country and the people are incredibly welcoming.

A practical focus of the Addis Ababa discussions centered on entry logistics and bureaucratic efficiency. That smooth experience prompted interest in studying Ethiopia’s system to explore similar measures in Namibia for Ethiopian travelers.
