/ The Iraqi national team was eliminated from the Asian Cup after losing to its Jordanian counterpart, on Monday, in the third match of the round of 16 of the Asian Football Cup, which is currently being held in the Qatari capital, Doha.
The match took place at Khalifa International Stadium at 2:30 pm and ended in Jordan’s favor with a score of 3-2.
The first half ended with the Jordanian team leading with a goal by Yazan Al-Naimat, who scored in the 54+1 minute.
In the second half, the equaliser came for the Iraqi team with a header by Saad Natiq in the 68th minute, and in the 75th minute, Ayman Hussein scored the second goal for Iraq. Due to Ayman Hussein’s celebration after scoring the goal, he received a second yellow card in the 77th minute, and was sent off from the match, after he had received a previous card in the 45+3 minute of the first half, so the Iraqi team completed the match with ten players.
In the 90+5 minute, Jordan scored the equaliser through Yazan Al Arab, and in the 90+5 minute, Jordan’s third goal came in the 90+6 minute through Nizar Mahmoud.
