jpnn.com – JAKARTA – Jordi Amat is very sad that he cannot defend the Indonesian National Team due to injury.
The Indonesian national team will play two opening matches in the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in the Asian zone against Saudi Arabia and Australia.
“Dear Indonesian fans. With a sad feeling, I would like to convey that despite my efforts to speed up the recovery time, I will not be able to join the national team for the third round of the World Cup Qualifiers,” said the 32-year-old defender, quoted from his official Instagram account, Friday.
“I have tried my best, but unfortunately it is not possible,” he added.
In the list of 26 players brought by Indonesian National Team Coach Shin Tae Yong, Jordi’s name was not included in the squad that was called up because he had not recovered from his injury.
Shin brought five players who have the same role that Jordi usually plays, namely center back. The five players are Justin Hubner (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Rizky Ridho (Persija Jakarta), Muhammad Ferarri (Persija Jakarta), Wahyu Prasetyo (Malut United), and Jay Idzes (Venezia).
The Indonesian national team opened the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification for the Asian zone by playing against Saudi Arabia at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, Jeddah, on Thursday (5/9) local time or Friday (6/9) early morning at 01.00 WIB.
After that, the Garuda Team will host Australia at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta, Tuesday (10/9) at 19.00 WIB.
