Barcelona will host Getafe in the Spanish league tomorrow (Sunday, 19:30, live on channel ONE) after the overwhelming 0:5 against Ceuta in the King’s Cup. It was an unusual game for the Catalans who arrived at the stadium of their third division rival in a city that is essentially a Spanish enclave in North Africa, with the help of a plane to Malaga, a helicopter to Ceuta and then a bus to the pitch. But what awaited Xavi and his players in the stadium was no less bizarre.
As in every game, the announcer read the lineups and Saute’s stole the show when he decided, for some reason, to make the names of the players Spanish. It should be noted that it is not just the Catalan players, but even Robert Lewandowski, who became – even if only for a moment – ‘Roberto Lewandowski’.
But that’s not all. Thus, for example, the players and spectators received ‘Ignacio Paneya’ (instead of Iniaqui Paneya), ‘Enrique García’ (Eric García) and Jorge Alba (Jordi Alba). This also included Xavi who suddenly became ‘Javier Hernandez’ in front of the wondering fans.
