Alongside the Spaniard, Espargaró, Bagnaia, Bastianini, Miller, Di Giannantonio, Binder, Vinales, Bezzecchi, and Marc Marquez also qualify for Q2 on Saturday. Morbidelli, Acosta, and Quartararo are excluded. VR46 officially confirmed as Ducati’s team partner from 2025. Trackhouse team chooses Ogura to replace Oliveira.

Jorge Martin starts strong and finishes first in the Silverstone pre-qualifications. The Ducatis are flying, with Bagnaia in third place behind a strong Aprilia, which proves to be very fast on the English circuit with Espargaro (winner of the last edition of the GP). Enea Bastianini holds the fourth-fastest time but has a podium pace, making him a favorite for the double race on Saturday and Sunday. Miller brings the Ktm to fifth place, seeking visibility for a spot on the grid in 2025 (currently the Australian is without a ride for next season).
Good Diggia, Marquez in Q2 with difficulty
Notable is Di Giannantonio, who places his 2023 Ducati in sixth place, better than Marquez, who slipped in the morning and qualified tenth with the same bike (after trying to use Martin’s slipstream, who quickly distanced himself), behind Marco Bezzecchi. Vinales eighth, likely a bit disappointed given the pace shown since the morning.
The notable exclusions
Missing from the top ten are Morbidelli (11th), Acosta (13th), and Quartararo (16th). No Japanese bike is able, for now, to match the performance of the European manufacturers.
