The Ecuadorian goalkeeper of Mushuc Runa, Jorge Pinos, was arrested a few moments after starting the match against Imbabura SC for the third round of the Pro League.
Various journalists who were at the Echaleche stadium, where the Ambateño team plays at home, including Alex Cañizares, reported that Pinos was scheduled to play in the main lineup. However, before going out into the field, National Police agents approached him, informed him about a alimony complaint and proceeded to arrest him.
Cañizares adds that they tried to negotiate with the party that filed the lawsuit to avoid the arrest of Pinos, but unfortunately an agreement was not reached and the arrest was carried out without the possibility of reversal.
Thus, Mushuc Runa was forced to make a last-minute change to its lineup, with Wilman Pabón taking the starting position instead of Jorge Pinos.
So far, neither Mushuc Runa nor Pinos’ representative have commented on the player’s arrest and his current situation.
Pinos stood out as an important figure in the Ponchito Rojo team, showing an outstanding performance in the previous match by achieving a goalless draw against Emelec at the George Capwell stadium in Guayaquil.
