After his future was in the air for the past few months, Josh Cohen today (Tuesday) officially extended his contract with Maccabi Haifa for another season, when he will continue with the team until 2023. The American-Jew arrived in Carmel three seasons ago and last February received an Israeli passport and identity card.

He recorded 126 appearances in all competitions, won two championships with the team, the Champions League, the Toto Cup and qualified for the home stage of the Conference League. After the signing he said Cohen: “Happy to continue in a place that is like a second home for me. I have had amazing experiences here and I want to continue to experience together with our audience successes in both Europe and the local league.”

The sporting director of the club, Gal AlbermanHe said: “We are very pleased with Josh’s signing for another season. Josh, through his unique personality and abilities, has become a key figure on and off the field. We hope for many common achievements together and wish Josh much success in the coming season!”
