Josh Mathews officially joined All Elite Wrestling, making his debut at All In. The experienced wrestling personality was featured on the All In preshow panel, offering insights and analysis before the main event. He also conducted backstage interviews with stars Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay, adding to his presence at the high-profile event.

From Producer to On-Screen Talent

Mathews’ involvement with AEW began behind the scenes. According to a report from PWInsider, he started as a producer with the company in May. A recent video posted by former WWE “Tough Enough” castmate Maven revealed Mathews discussing his role, stating he’s currently learning from AEW’s EVP of Global Production, Mike Mansury.

“Right now, shadowing Mike Mansury,” Mathews told Maven in the video. “I’ll do the Ring of Honor matches before, then I’ll sit, watch AEW Collision, then do the Ring of Honor matches after. So, it’s a busy night.”

A Long Career in Wrestling

Mathews’ move to AEW follows his departure from TNA Wrestling in February, ending a tenure of over ten years with the promotion. He was the voice of TNA as their play-by-play announcer from 2014 until 2021. More recently, he held the positions of Senior Producer and Senior Director of Digital Media within the company. Before joining TNA, Mathews signed with WWE in 2001, following a runner-up finish to Maven on the original season of “Tough Enough.”

Mathews’ transition to AEW represents a new opportunity for the veteran wrestling personality, bringing his extensive experience to a rapidly growing promotion.
