A journalist for RDP Africa was born in Salvaterra do Extremo, in Idanha-a-Nova. He was 69 years old.

Journalist João Diogo Manteigas died last Thursday at the age of 69 at the Portuguese Institute of Oncology in Lisbon, where he was hospitalized.
João Diogo Manteigas was born in Salvaterra do Extremo, in Idanha-a-Nova, and has worked with RDP in Africa for 28 years, also collaborating with Eurosport and Benfica TV channels.
“It is now a reference in African sport, being present in the biggest CPLP (Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries) competitions for national teams and clubs. For more than 20 years, it provided programs dedicated to Portuguese-speaking sports”, recalls RDP Africa.
The after is scheduled for this Saturday from 4pm at Alfragide Church and the funeral will take place on Sunday in Salvaterra do Extremo.
The journalist is the father of João Diogo Manteigas, who is a candidate for president of Benfica.
