The journalist and writer Dimitris Triantafyllidis died at the age of 65, after a battle with cancer. His son, Vassilis announced the news of his death via Facebook.
“My father, Dimitris Triantafyllidis, completed his world tour last night in the hospital where he had been hospitalized for the past few months. He gave up after great suffering” he wrote and referred to his desire for the funeral to take place in Ritsona.

Who was Dimitris Triantafyllidis?
Dimitris V. Triantafyllidis was born in 1959 in Thessaloniki. He completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Taras Shevchenko State University in Kyiv and then studied Theology at AUTH.
From a very young age, he was interested in Russian literature and thus began to translate iconic figures and texts. He had more than 130 books translated, covering the entire range of Russian literature: philosophy, theology, history, politics, prose, poetry, theater, literary criticism, etc.
In 2014 he founded the magazine “Stepa”, a quarterly review of Russian culture, in which he published translations of important thinkers and writers, both past and present, in an effort to make it easier for the Greek reader to engage with the complex and interesting . a phenomenon known as “Russian culture”.
At the same time, he published articles and studies in contemporary Greek journals.
