“Give us our money”, “Our patience has limits”, these are among the slogans chanted by the collective of CIS Médias journalists in the demand for salary arrears yesterday Tuesday August 20, 2024.
This time, these journalists were in front of Antonio Souaré’s hotel, headquarters of the SAM-GBM group, in Kaloum, as if to say that the negotiations were in vain.
After months of calm, Pierre Fatewa Diawara, motivated this action: “we came here to tell them that they made us sign a protocol and that the least we could do is respect the protocol that they imposed on us and that we had to accept. Not only is the protocol not respected, but there is no one to talk to, total silence, total contempt. We cannot continue like this, we are Guineans, we have rights. We waited to accept the situation, but at a certain point, the situation is improving but it is regrettable to see that people make commitments but are not able to respect them. It is our money, we are not going to let this happen. We came today, next week we will come back and we will not tire ourselves out until we earn all our money”, explained the spokesperson for the collective. And he added: “We have always favored dialogue because we believe that we are family. If they had agreed to settle the matter amicably, we would not be here.”
Determined, Paul Fatawa Diawara, on behalf of the strikers, declared: “It is possible that we will go to court to demand our money.”
