Jouve wins the Rousses sprint ahead of Klaebo

by time news

Richard Jouve did not miss the return of the cross-country skiing World Cup in France after six years of absence: the Frenchman won the classic style sprint of Les Rousses on Saturday ahead of the star of the discipline, the Norwegian Johannes Klaebo.

Supported by the noisy Jura public, Jouve beat Klaebo, 2022 Olympic sprint champion by 9/100th and another Norwegian Paal Golberg, 3rd at 91/100th in the final. He offered his fourth victory on the world circuit, the second of the winter after his success in Beitostolen (Norway), already in the classic sprint, in December.

Jouve, 28, was part of the French quartet of bronze medalists in the 4×10 km relay at the 2022 Beijing Olympics just under a year ago. Four years earlier, he had won his first bronze medal in the team sprint.
