It is a small application that is on the rise, has already been downloaded almost 7 million times, and which has 1.5 million regular users. Jow – a combination of now and wow – is like the ultimate personal assistant, which gives you instructions and then automatically provides you with a matching shopping list. Useful!

The idea was born in 2018 when one of the founders of Jow, Jacques-Édouard Sabatier, then a young father, racked his brain to design menus and intelligently fill his fridge. With two colleagues from Canal +, it started. Except in Paris, where the instrument is little known, Jow is a hit. Now it ranks fifth among “food” apps after Uber Eats, Too Good to Go, McDonald’s and KFC France. And users say they are getting on.

It must be said that Jow is very easy to use: once you have entered the size of your family, specify the type of equipment you have, from the distributors. (all are partners today, except Système U) you want to do your shopping, and finally if you have specific dietary restrictions (vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.), the app recommends menus for you.

Delivered in less than 30 minutes in Paris

Jacques-Édouard Sabatier says: “We will not give a student without an oven or food without an oven at your disposal. Once the menus are established, on your server’s website, your basket is automatically filled with all the products you need to make them. You can then finish with other products, then complete your order, which you will receive as usual (driver, home delivery).

But Jow also allows you to save money, because you only order what you need: “Your purchase bill is reduced by 15% on average,” assures Jacques-Édouard Sabatier, who also points to “the promotions of we deal directly with the major. brands.

The platform, which now has 75 employees, is paid through service fees charged to customers (90 cents per order), but also through advertising and a percentage that distributors pay on each order.

Wanting to end up in Paris, its founders have established a partnership since February with Carrefour and Deliveroo, so that Jow customers can deliver within 30 minutes, first in the capital and then in other big cities.
