Joyful Reunion: Sol Heilo’s Stolen Trailer with Priceless Instruments Found

by time news

The case is being updated!

On Monday afternoon, artist Sol Heilo (42) from Haslum is standing in the street in Gjettum, crying tears of joy.

Here is her trailer, which was stolen last week. As far as she can see, the contents are intact.

– It looks like everything is there.

When it was stolen from the street outside Heilo’s home in Haslum last week, the trailer was filled with musical instruments – nearly everything she owns. She estimated the value to exceed one million kroner.

Artist Sol Heilo is known, among other things, for her work with Katzenjammer and from the show “Hver gang vi møtes” in 2019.

It was the police who called her with information about the discovery.

– I screamed very loudly and ran all around the house. And now I’m just shaking. I am very grateful, very happy, and very relieved, Heilo tells Budstikka.

Then she rushed off to Gjettum.

– This means an enormous amount to me.

Reacted to the trailer

The police sent several patrols to the scene after receiving tips about the trailer, and that it could be the missing trailer belonging to the artist.

– It was a civilian who reacted to the trailer and alerted us about it, the police at the scene tell Budstikka.

The vehicle identification number (VIN) on the trailer confirmed that it was the sought-after trailer found in Gjettum.

– The license plates that were on the trailer do not belong to this trailer, the police add.

The police conducted investigations on the trailer, including securing evidence, before Heilo could hook the trailer back onto her car and drive home.

– Cooked in the head

Heilo describes a little less than a week where the theft has consumed her life.

– I am completely cooked in the head. And very happy. I don’t understand anything. It just stands here. That people can be so rude.

She is also very grateful for the significant engagement around this case. There has been a lot of media attention and much sharing on social media.

– Without that, it wouldn’t have gone, I think, says Heilo.

After the theft, a fundraising campaign was set up on spleis.no to finance a private detective for Heilo. By Monday afternoon, this had been completed, raising 475,300 kroner.

– We first need to get an overview of everything inside the trailer, and then we need to consider the fundraising. Some kind of reimbursement will happen, but we don’t know when. It’s not appropriate for her to sit on this sum, says Pernille Torp-Holte, Heilo’s manager and the one responsible for the fundraising.

Was dismissed

On Monday morning, it became clear that the police had dismissed the investigation into the theft of the trailer full of musical equipment from Sol Heilo.

– It is correct that the case was reported on December 11. The case was dismissed the following day due to a lack of information about the perpetrator and will not be further investigated by the police at this time, police attorney Vilde Wigenstad in the Oslo police district wrote to NTB.

After this news became known, it didn’t take long before the case took a new turn.

Residential street in Gjettum

Around 1:30 PM, the police arrived at a residential street in Gjettum after receiving a tip that Heilo’s trailer might be located there.

The artist was contacted by the police and was asked to come to the scene to potentially confirm that it is the trailer that was stolen with musical equipment worth a million from Haslum last week.

Heilo arrived at the location shortly after 2 PM.

Working tools

Heilo is a musician and is currently working on composing music for a new film by Egner.

This became very difficult when the instruments were stolen.

– I sat at home and did what I could with a ukulele and a bell I had on the Christmas tree. So I’m very glad that I now get some instruments I can play with.
