Mexico City; Saturday, September 23, 2023.- The process begins for the crimes of organized crime and money laundering, the only one of the four criminal proceedings in which he was subject to ex officio preventive detention.
Gustavo Aquiles Villaseñor, control judge of the Federal Criminal Justice Center of the North Prison, modified the precautionary measure due to his deteriorating state of health and based on the rulings of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (CoIDH), which ordered the Mexican State eliminate ex officio preventive detention from its legislation.
In a hearing that lasted from 12:40 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the judge estimated that the conditions under which the original precautionary measure was imposed had changed and, given his clinical diagnoses, the risk that can escape.
As substitute precautionary measures, the judge imposed on Collado the use of an electronic bracelet, the delivery of his passport and the periodic presentation, without any restriction of movement in the country and without paying bail.
Collado has been hospitalized for more than three months at the Ángeles Pedregal Hospital and in order for him to be able to move freely, he must first hire the electronic bracelet and then inform the control judge, so that he can schedule the procedure to place the device.
Once that happens, you will be able to leave the hospital.
All of this could happen in a matter of hours or days, depending on the time it takes for your defense to sign the contract with the bracelet company and report it to Judge Aquiles Villaseñor.
