The Colombian Juan David Cabal was a starter in his debut with Juventus for the first match of the Italian league 2024-2025 season.
His official debut was the one desired. Juve won 3-0 against newly promoted Como in Turin at the end of the first matchday of the Calcio. He played in his natural position as a left back with good performance in both defense and attack.
The opponent demanded little of him, allowing him to contribute more freely to the offensive phase. In his 90 minutes, he shot once on goal, completed 30 out of 37 passes, won three duels, and recovered the ball three times.
His best chance came at the start of the second half. In the opposing half, he delivered a precise cross that was headed by striker Dusan Vlahovic in the center of the area. However, the VAR found an offside in a previous action and prevented the score from being 3-0. In stoppage time, the rout was confirmed with a goal from Andrea Cambiaso.
Cabal had a successful start with his new team, which is in fourth place in the standings with three points.
In the second match, he will visit Hellas Verona on Monday, August 26. It will be a duel of Colombians as local player forward Daniel Mosquera, who scored a brace against Napoli, will also be in action.
