“The defense of the independence of the Judiciary against attacks that seek to undermine it, as an established guarantee for those who go to court and not as a privilege of the judging persons, judicial independence is not a game of power, nor is it power what is at stake, but the rights enshrined in our Constitution and in the international treaties signed by our country,” he indicated.
He asked the country’s judges to “be open to dialogue, because it is an indispensable route, which is why I applaud the possibility that this meeting gives us, by bringing together the most diverse voices of the users of the security and justice systems, sharing Their knowledge and experiences on specific problems will allow us to glimpse what we as authorities must improve to move towards a justice system that responds to the demands of society.”
He added that for the members of the Judiciary “it is unacceptable to close our eyes to criticism, on the contrary, we encourage self-criticism and soon we will make a first cut and later we will prepare a document that will be available to support an informed debate in the interests of, “far from deteriorating and weakening it, improving and strengthening the judicial function.”
In the city of Toluca, more than 280 users of the security and justice system of Michoacán and the State of Mexico met to generate a diagnosis and build solutions.

In his participation in the inauguration of the National Meeting, Judge Ricardo Sodi Cuellar, president of the Superior Court of Justice and the Judicial Council of the State of Mexico, expressed that the general objective is to carry out a diagnosis in front of society and the needs for the administration and enforcement of justice. “This will allow us not only this link with society, but also to carry out an accurate and head-on diagnosis, with total transparency to Mexican society,” he assured.
For his part, Adrián López Solís, attorney general of the State of Michoacán, stated that institutions are obliged to be catalysts for solutions in the areas of criminal justice. “The system, even though it is national and even though it is the exclusive power of our Federal Congress, can be perfected, it has to be reviewed to modify itself and what better way than through these exercises, where there are people who are living the day-to-day experience” .
