“Judicial reform is a fact, and good for Mexico”: Sheinbaum

“It is a decision of the people of Mexico, not only the election of June 2, but if one does surveys, practically 30% of the people of Mexico agree that judges and ministers should be elected,” he stressed.

Upon leaving the transition house, to meet with the president at the National Palace Lopez Obrador and the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE), Sheinbaum highlighted that the judicial reform will strengthen the administration of justice, while ending the regime of corruption and privileges in the country.

“The way in which they (the judges) are going to be selected is being taken care of, based on a Committee, a public call, so judicial reform is a fact, and it is good for Mexico, because it will strengthen the administration of justice, and end the regime of corruption and privileges in the country. When questioned about the actions of Miguel Ángel Yunes Márquez, the future president stressed that the senator made an informed decision and was clear in explaining the reason for his vote in favor of judicial reform.

“It is a decision that he makes, but also an informed one because he makes a very clear statement about why he is supporting her, it is a good reflection that he makes,” he replied.

Meanwhile, in light of the ongoing strike by the Judiciary, who yesterday broke into the Senate session, and whether this could affect her inauguration in the Chamber of Deputies on October 1, Claudia Sheinbaum assured that she does not foresee any impact.
