The TV season may be coming to an end and one by one the shows are winding down, but Mega has secured two new TV programs for June to keep viewers company on warm summer evenings. From Tuesday 21 June and every night at 23.00, get ready for a legal thriller with Glenn Close. The new series “Damages“, coming to the screen, takes place in New York and transports the audience to a world full of corruption, extortion, bribery.
The protagonists are the big lawyer Patty Hughes (Glenn Close) and her young apprentice partner Helen Parsons (Rose Byrne). But don’t think that the lawyer is an angel either, as she is ruthless and will do whatever it takes to achieve her goals.
The first cycle of the series, which consists of 13 episodes, focuses on the lawyer’s attempt to convict Arthur Frobisher (Ted Danson), a corrupt businessman, while Hughes and her colleagues also have to deal with his brilliant lawyer, Ray Fisk (Zeljko Ivanek). In America, the screening of the third cycle has also been completed, with all reviews praising the program, considering it one of the best legal TV thrillers of recent years. In fact, a fourth cycle is also expected to be filmed. The performances are said to be excellent, as is the direction, while the way of presenting the events is also original, with the main story taking place in the past and slowly leading us to the present.
The series from its very first year of transmission, in 2008, won the Emmy award for the first female role (Glenn Close), second male role (Zeljko Ivanek), while the star of the film “101 Dalmatians” also won the Golden Globe first female role. For the second cycle (2009) Glenn Close also won the Emmy for leading actress.
